Yeah it’s good, but I mean it’s not really easy but if you have time you can play like 30 hours a week. And that is really good for your learning. So yeah, you need practice. We have lots of things for you, everything about that is all on our site. But it’s not hard, it’s not that crazy, but you have to work a lot of time. So it’s not easy.
Does playing guitar really get more difficult as the years pass?
Yeah definitely definitely. Because guitar playing is the most fun thing in the world but when you move forward the next thing is learning that song again. So it’s a challenge. Every year I go to the school there’s a lesson and then two years later my friend play a song in front of all the kids and you get this adrenaline rushing again. So it’s good, yeah, it’s an intense experience.
What kind of music does your band make?
Right now we make a lot of punk rock, a lot of hardcore punk.
What is it that attracts people to punk rock?
I think it’s a mix of emotions, kind of punk. So yeah we love it all kinds of things. We like old sounds, old sounds with modern touches, but every now and then even old punk rock gets kind of like a new sound, something new in terms of sounds like post metal and industrial music but it’s not that old music. It’s that something old that just needs to be put away. Like a bad record, you know, like that’s the opposite of this new record.
How do you feel about using a lot of old sounds to write for a modern audience?
I have a new record coming out soon called ‘The Devil Rides Out’ and it’s a lot of old songs with new music so I’ll be using my old stuff to write the new stuff, but it’s a mix.
Have you listened to anything with punk metal or hardcore influences in it?
Yeah definitely. We all have that stuff inside us, like we used to listen to punk in our day, or metal in our day, so it’s always going on.
With the band you are now, have you discovered any new people to play with besides your mates?
Yeah, you know what… we went for the first time to Sweden for the band festival and we played Stockholm, we toured the whole of Sweden with like 5
