A Short nails and long nails are both great things, but if you like to play all over your neck or need to hold your guitar to the floor, I would suggest going with the shorter nails. I have two guitars that are 12″ and 12 1/2″. A lot of your shorter nails will probably only last you a few months or years and will need to be replaced when they begin to give you problems. The ones that last will usually be much less than your long nails will be.
