If you’ve already taken a film class, then you’re already prepared to learn something new. If you’re new to the subject of filmmaking, then you will find that these classes aren’t going to make you very knowledgeable about the subject.
The classes that I have in mind will teach you the basics: basics of filmmaking, some practical suggestions to get started, and how you can use your camera.
How do you go about putting together a class?
I will try to set up a class for you, with a group of friends, that you can all sign up for by emailing matthew@cinematest.com.
This is your chance to make a class that is going to be fun for you, with some of your best friends, and that will give you the skills to get started.
How does your tuition go?
My tuition goes to the IndieGoGo goal that Kickstarter sets – an idea I have that, if you can fund it, will make it possible.
I pay all of my own tuition: rent, equipment, props, food, accommodation, travel.
If I get the funding, I will make sure that my tuition goes right back into the film as it gets made, and I think it will go just as far.

I teach classes and workshops in LA, Vancouver, New York and Miami.
A U.S. military judge ruled Wednesday that the Pentagon must allow American and NATO forces to help train Iraqi security forces fighting Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The judge allowed the Pentagon to send at least eight trainers to Iraq and Kuwait.
U.S. military spokeswoman U.S. Brig. Gen. Marcia Barbour said the Pentagon is now sending seven more trainers to the region and plans to send four more on Thursday. U.S. Air Force Capt. Kristin Gittens said the trainers will arrive in Kuwait early Thursday, joining the 10 already already in the Middle Eastern country.
