What are the basics of singing? – Learn Singing Online App

What are the things your audience looks for? What is the difference between what is heard at a small club or small town bar versus a country club or a big concert hall? What do you think it’s like living in the United States with all the differences?

I’m so glad you asked these questions. There are so many differences; however, there are also so many similarities. That is why it’s so important that we educate each other about what we’re missing. I know so many of you who’ve been raised here in New Jersey, or in my case from New York City, you’re familiar with all the differences, but when you’re in a foreign country you don’t think about anything, you just know that you’re in this country.

When we take time to think about the world we’re in — the difference between New York or Paris vs. London, from a language point of view — we just become aware of it as it is. We don’t have any preconceived notions. In Europe they don’t even have that. So when I’m singing in New York, you have no idea what I’m singing. I have no idea what you’re singing. When I was a kid all you had in New York City was my own house, my dad’s house, my little sister’s house, my grandfather’s house, and then one day you would look around and see a sign that said, “This is where we can find everything”. You don’t know what to think. We’re never exposed to things that we don’t like because they’re just too different, and they are too much. If we have that chance to get away from that, to really feel like, I can sing at this level — you’re not going to know what I’m just singing about, you’re going to be blown away. It’s just not possible because you don’t have that environment of where you can experience it, so when you do have that chance to be somewhere else and experience it for yourself then you get that confidence in the song that gives you a chance to be better not just as a singer but as a person.

At what age you began singing?

It was really easy for me and it was like every time I was on stage it meant an opportunity to be in front of people and it was great to be able to learn and to be inspired by other people. One day I remember telling my mom that I had a passion for the instrument and she’s like, “No baby
