Pitching is the action of making contact with the ball or a ball that has been passed to you. A well-placed header, a good pass, etc. are all pitches.
Is the field in our soccer league pitch-only? Is there a net? What if players are allowed to dribble on it?
Of course, the field is all grass except for the goals in our league, and yes, there is a net for players to dribble on.
In addition, players are allowed to dribble over the net with the ball. This is very important for younger players who may not be used to playing on a “slippery” surface like grass or turf, but this is more of a technical play than it is a physical one. We want to instill the correct footwork for these activities and make sure that player’s bodies are as comfortable on our football field as possible.
How can we get more kids involved in soccer as they grow and age?
Kids should be playing soccer with their friends, families, and coaches all over the state! Can we go to our league games on Friday and Saturday before or after school?
The Soccer League is an all-age, club league. We encourage players to come to games on Friday and Saturday before, after school, or just before their school days, as we like to stay as busy as possible before and after school. We also like to go to a few local events before, after, or just about every week so our members have a chance to go to some good sporting events.
Are we a school-based league or a church-based league?
The Soccer League is a church-based club league. If you plan on attending a soccer game with other individuals over the weekend, you’ll need to have your church or youth group sponsor you. This is an option that is available to each individual on a case-by-case basis.
