It’s that last 5 percent of the pitch, where the ball starts. The first time that ball touches the wall or a turf field the referee will yell out that the ball is in the field and has crossed the border into the other team territory. You generally hear this if anyone has moved out of the way of the ball when it hit the wall or turf.
And where does the boundary enter?
It will enter the pitch once the first player is down with the ball. If there is a full circle in an indoor league, the boundary is supposed to start on one of the corners, and be on the right side of the corner where the first player lands on the turf field. In the outdoor, and sometimes indoor, leagues, the boundary is supposed to meet the bottom of the pitch at the bottom of the circle.
It’s a fairly boring explanation, but here’s a slightly more entertaining explanation from our favorite soccer player:
“I’m in a 2v5 [where two teammates are all defending by themselves, but they’re outnumbered by multiple opponents]. I think my teammates should throw me the ball. They’re defending, I’m at the end of the left field and behind [one of my teammates, or the goalkeeper], I should throw it to him for a goal. I’m out near the corner where two other players are defending, and I try to jump up to the ball as quickly as I can before they knock me down, and then jump back up to the ball.”
I agree with this assessment. It’s pretty much your typical shot at a goal, just with the ball hitting the turf a bit differently. But it sure helps if someone else is there to catch the ball.
And why is the referee required to yell at players who touch the ball on the turf?

The point of these laws is to keep the game fair for everybody, with only the best players getting better, and also to keep the fans at home happy.
In the outdoor, indoor, and even at some indoor levels you have turf fields that are uneven, some of them quite hard. But you have to know that those fields are there to keep the other team from touching the ball as it comes off the ball, so if you’re an elite soccer player, you have to take that risk if you want to score and you’ve already made the final cut-off.
But the official who will yell “touch on the turf” at you is still technically in
