In order to make our chart, we took these songs and compared their average singability to a wider range of songs, including popular songs from every era, genres and other genres.
We’ve also included some of our own song rankings, which we think tell a story a little different — and we’ll explain why in a moment.
The chart below shows the average singability of many songs from every time period, from each generation of song. We grouped them so that the songs of the same era were grouped together and each of those years is represented (in the chart below the song).

Why is an Average Song Singable?
In case you’re not familiar, an average song is something you hear every time you open Google Translate and see the words. As a result, it is more important than it sounds or looks. The average of its many meanings is usually an overall average that reflects the general nature of what people will hear and hear regularly.
