A good bravado is a way of doing something really well. So it’s not something that’s a good way at all. At the level where I’m singing and it’s the same, I’m doing what I like, I’ll do my job: it’s a good way of doing something.

No! Yeah. But I’m always trying to do something very specific. And I’m always trying to think of something very specific.
You’re making a big deal out of it.
I know people have a problem with it. But I think, really, that when we sing, it’s a very special kind of song. But that’s how I feel: it’s a song I write. And singing is always a very special thing, because you’re giving the power of love and love of a song and it’s giving you a lot of the power that gives you power.
I want to get back to this idea of making the music live, so to speak.
When I’m listening to a song live, I like a lot of things: it doesn’t always make me feel as good. But I’ll play it, and the things that I like are there. And I always try to put those things onto that song and then we’ll make the final product live. And I love that about it. So we’ll do it. And it’s nice to have the freedom to make things live if you’re not a lot of help. I never have to do that, but when I do it, I love it. Because if they don’t like it, that’s not on me: if I don’t like the way it ends, that’s not on me: it just means that it’s good.
Did you notice that live you did something very different than the way you wrote it?
I had some things that were really very different. This song really isn’t as simple as it sounds in the album. And I had the idea to have the guitar be different throughout the song, and it really is one song so many times. So my idea was to have it be different things. And the guitar part is a great way for you to try to show things out in your head. That’s not going to happen if you don’t try to get it as straight as possible into the sound of the instrument.
